Gothia Cup 2024, the world’s largest youth football tournament, takes place from July 14 to 20 in Gothenburg, Sweden. This annual event gathers approximately 1,900 teams from 80 countries, participating in over 4,700 matches on 110 fields. The tournament is renowned for its diversity and international atmosphere, making it a unique and memorable experience for young football players worldwide.
The opening ceremony will be held on July 15 at Ullevi Stadium and promises to be a grand event with music, dance, fireworks, and a parade of all participating nations. This ceremony, often compared to an Olympic opening ceremony, is a highlight for both players and spectators and promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Gothia Cup 2024 will also focus on sustainability and continue its efforts to promote environmental awareness and responsibility during the tournament. This summer, around 70,000 young people from all over the world will learn how to make the planet more sustainable. Reducing carbon footprints, proper waste sorting, and a greater focus on fair play are some of the concrete efforts Gothia Cup and Partille World Cup are making for ecological and social sustainability in the new initiative Celebrate.
Among the many competitions, the Gothia Puma Trophy will be one of the most prestigious, where elite teams in the U17 category for both girls and boys will compete and showcase some of the best young football talents.
