A New and Enhanced Hotel Concept

During 2019/2020, Hotel Riverton underwent an extensive renovation and new construction project to embrace a new and refined hotel concept, with a focus on creating an international design feel and reaching new target audiences. Historically, we have primarily attracted the business segment, but we wanted to expand our offerings to appeal to a larger share of private travelers. Naturally, we also aimed to strengthen our position on the Gothenburg map and capture even more market share.

We have renovated all public areas of the hotel, introduced a completely new reception, lobby, and lobby bar – The Livingroom, launched a new event restaurant – Restaurant ONE, refurbished View Skybar & Restaurant on the 12th floor, fully renovated the conference facilities, created an entirely new Spa & Gym – Serenity Spa & Gym, and added 25 new rooms. In total, we have expanded by 1,500 square meters and invested 225 million SEK.

Interior designer Maria Montecinos Franjola, together with the owners Magnus & Lotta Hedlund, has created a hotel that exudes international elegance. Maria has custom-designed much of the interior, which has then been manufactured by KOR Furniture in Portugal. Other design brands featured in the hotel include Poltrona Frau Italy, Baxter Italy, and Classicon by Sebastian Herkner. The lighting consists of brands such as Occhio, FLOS, and Delightful. We believe in a timeless concept with a focus on quality that will stand the test of time for many years to come.

Our Rooms

Our rooms, suites, and apartments are carefully decorated with a modern, elegant design and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay in Gothenburg. We offer four different room categories: Premium rooms located between floors 7–11 and Superior and Deluxe rooms located between floors 2–6. Additionally, we have our Penthouse rooms on the 7th floor and full-service apartments in an adjacent building.

Our Executive Chef, Christoffer Andersson, who has extensive experience in the industry from Stockholm, Mariefred, and Gothenburg, together with his talented kitchen team, presents high-quality and inspired dishes from an à la carte menu. The proximity to the sea is reflected in our menu, where selected ingredients from the West Coast take center stage. Our kitchen draws inspiration from its love for the Swedish West Coast and combines local ingredients with international influences. We use local and organic ingredients whenever possible, meaning our menu varies by season and availability to ensure we always offer the best the season has to offer.

On the first floor, you will find our newly renovated restaurant, Restaurant ONE. Here, you are greeted by one of Gothenburg’s most inviting atmospheres, featuring a timeless elegance that enhances both ambiance and togetherness. The restaurant has floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows that offer a beautiful view of the river, making it a delightful place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a celebration.

Our lobby bar, The Livingroom, offers an international design with elegant details, and warm colors mixed with a dose of character that creates harmony and a homely feel. It features spacious areas with carefully selected designer furniture, a library, and an electric fireplace, making it the perfect place to sit down and read a book, get some work done, or meet up with friends.
